LAST year many outraged Love Island fans accused the series of "emotional abuse."
But how many complaints were made to Ofcom and why? Find out below...
How many Ofcom complaints did Love Island 2018 receive?
The show was rocked by a big number of complaints to the television watchdog
As of August 2018 the total of complaints about the show was over 4,000.
The reason people were spurred into action to complain was when Dani Dyer became very emotionally distressed.
An Ofcom spokesperson told The Sun at the time: “We are assessing these complaints against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
Why did viewers accuse Love Island of "emotional abuse"?
Love Island fans complained to Ofcom over the show’s treatment of Dani Dyer.
She was left in tears after being shown a clip of her boyfriend Jack Fincham in Casa Amor seeing his ex for the first time.
Despite the fact Jack had remained completely faithful to her throughout their separation, Dani had no idea and was left devastated by the fact his former girlfriend Ellie had entered.
Dani and Jack had been living separately for four days with no contact and in the knowledge that new sexy singletons were living with them.
Viewers were angry that producers had decided to show Dani that clip, even though Jack had been completely loyal.
They thought it was "unnecessary distress" and some even called it "emotional abuse".
