Love Island cancelled tonight following Caroline Flack’s death
TONIGHT'S Love Island has been cancelled following former host Caroline Flack's tragic death.
The ITV2 reality show will be back on air tomorrow with a tribute to the 40-year-old star.
Caroline was yesterday found dead in her flat after taking her own life.
Show bosses held crisis talks about Love Island's future today, and now bosses have confirmed that the show won't air at 9pm tonight as scheduled.
However, it will return to our screens as usual tomorrow evening with a tribute to the star.
An ITV spokesperson said in a statement: "Many people at ITV knew Caroline well and held her in great affection. All of us are absolutely devastated at this tragic news.
"After careful consultation between Caroline’s representatives and the Love Island production team and given how close we still are to the news of Caroline’s tragic death we have decided not to broadcast tonight’s Love Island out of respect for Caroline’s family.
"Love Island will return tomorrow night which will include a tribute to Caroline who will be forever in our hearts."
It comes after yesterday's instalment of Unseen Bits was also cancelled, with ITV2 airing a rerun of You've Been Framed instead.
YOU'RE NOT ALONE
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society - from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others.
You're Not Alone.
