MAURA Higgins has revealed exactly what happens when Love Island contestants go into lockdown before going into the villa.
The 29-year-old, who appeared on the show last year, said that it means no phone, no TV and a personal chaperone at all hours.
Prior to entering the villa, all the contestants go into hiding and are cut off from the outside world, which is what the singletons will be currently doing ahead of Sunday night’s launch.
While most people are only in lock down for a few days, the Irish beauty was kept hidden for two week as she arrived late to the show.
Discussing what happens on today’s This Morning, she said: “They are in lockdown now with a chaperone.
“I got my phone taken off me on the shuttle bus to the terminal when I landed. I didn’t think it would be that quickly.
“Before I went on, I was promised I would be in the villa in the first three days. Two weeks and three days I was on lockdown.
“In the hotel, no phone, no TV, no anything with a chaperone. On the bad days, you can sit in a room with the chaperone on her laptop but not on your own.”
Maura caused quite the stir when she arrived in the villa and ended up coupled up with Curtis Pritchard.
Curtis was with fellow Islander Amy at the time and broke her heart when he picked Maura over her.
Maura and Curtis are however still together and both as busy as ever with work.
