I’m A Celeb star James Haskell’s wife Chloe Madeley blames show for his outbursts saying it’s ‘orchestrated’
CHLOE Madeley has accused I'm A Celebrity of "orchestrating" the show amid ongoing accusations of bullying aimed at her husband James Haskell.
The 32-year-old defended him online, after viewers criticised the former rugby player and Extra Camp presenter Emily Atack said she was "angry" at the star.
He declared was "too intelligent and too switched on" to discuss the answer to the Dingo Dollar Challenge.
However, 32-year-old Chloe wrote: "The poor guy is in a right old grump.
"His BMR(basic metebolic rate) is around 2500 cals his TDEE(Total daily energy expenditure) is around 4000 cals so to go down to 800 maybe 1200 with stars, is clearly taking its toll on him."
Chloe spoke after a follower asked her if James was getting "aggy" due to lack of food or missing his wife.
She added: "I think people should remember this is a TV show orchestrated to get big reactions out of big characters, and maybe take it a tad less seriously."
ITV told The Sun that "opinions and decisions are completely under the control of the campmates themselves".
Former rugby pro James called his co-stars' discussions "a circus of stupidity" after a showdown with Kate Garraway.
James infuriated viewers for his reaction to his campmates, with one calling him a "bully and a control freak".
The star kicked off after dithering broke out in camp over the answer to a simple A or B question in last night's Dingo Dollar Challenge.
He sulked: "It irritates the p*** out of me because it’s that simple. Explain the question, answer the question A or B."
He added: "It’s a circus of stupidity. I can’t do it, I’m too intelligent and too switched on. Just put your hands right up, let someone count them, right, the majority win, shut up and let’s move on.
"I’m not going to kill my brain cells doing that. It’s like someone is sticking a screwdriver in my eye."
He added that he was going to "sit back and watch everything umplode (sic)".
But last night Emily took the 34-year old to task for believing his "word is gospel".
She said: "He's one of those people that thinks 'If you don't think the same way as me, it's incorrect.' And that's not fair.
"He puts words in people's mouths, like the fact that people want to showcase their talent - some people aren't in there to do that."
Extra Camp's Adam Thomas added: "There are only two voices in camp at the moment - James and Ian's - and that needs to change."
The mangling of the word "implode" didn't escape viewers - with one mocking: "James talking about how intelligent he is and in the same breath using the 'word' umplode."
