Kate Garraway’s husband Derek says she’s ‘naturally beautiful’ after fans said she smuggled make-up into I’m A Celebrity
KATE Garraway’s husband Derek Draper has insisted she is "naturally beautiful" after fans insisted she's smuggled make-up into I’m A Celebrity.
The 52-year-old told The Sun Online that Good Morning Britain host Kate always looks her best the moment she wakes up.
Derek told us: "Take it from someone who knows - she never looks better than first thing in the morning.
"When we go on romantic breaks I beg her not to put make-up on. She's naturally beautiful, and adorable and awesome, and she's smashing it in the jungle."
Referring to their two children, he added: "Darcey, Bill and me are so proud."
Under I'm A Celeb rules, campmates are not allowed to bring any make-up into camp with them – unless it's their luxury item or they have special permission.
However, some viewers have been suspicious, with one asking: “Why does Kate Garraway have so much make up on?”
Another tweeted: "Has Kate Garraway got a full face of make up on?”
ITV confirmed to The Sun Online yesterday that Kate is not wearing any make-up on the show, apart from her recently-arrived concealer.
Good Morning Britain presenter Kate and Derek married in north London in 2005, when he was a political aide to then-Labour minister Peter Mandelson.
Their first child, daughter Darcey, now 13, was born in London in 2006, with son William, arriving three years later.
Kate has been a breakfast TV star since 1998, when she joined Sky News' Sunrise, before co-presenting GMTV Today with Andrew Castle in 2000.
She appeared in the fifth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2007, when she was partnered with Anton DuBeke.
