The film is based on the immensely popular video-game of the same name and follows a similar storyline.

Through a technological revolution, Callum Lynch is to experience the life of his ancestors during the Spanish Inquisition.

It appears that Dr. Sophia Rikkin, played by Cotillard, is a scientist out to understand more about violence through genetic memories.

The clip shows the scene in which Fassbender's Callum Lynch is told that he is about to experience the life of his ancestor, Aguilar.

Already clear from previous trailers, the clip confirms that the film won't be short of action.

Something that this clip does show, that others have not, is just how good Cotillard's performance is set to be.

There's something disturbingly haunting in the way that she portrays the doctor.

Her clinical and soul-less exterior as she says, "Commence regression," is enough to strike fear in anyone.
