Catch a glimpse behind the scenes of upcoming BBC drama King Charles III
THE first behind-the-scenes images of the one-off BBC2 special, King Charles III, are here.
The 90 minute drama has been adapted by Mike Bartlett from his award-winning play by the same name.
Set in the future, the play is imagined during Prince Charles's reign following the death of The Queen.
The BBC adaptation is set to be directed by Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award nominee Rupert Goold, also the director of the play.
The focus sits on a political crisis that The King, himself, is at the centre of.
The plot focuses on the implications of the crisis on King Charles III and, of course, the Royal Family.
Peaky Blinders actress, Charlotte Riley, was cast as The Duchess of Cambridge only a few weeks ago.
Filming has now started in Yorkshire.
Images (above) show the actress, who is married to Hollywood star Tom Hardy, looking strikingly similar to The Duchess.
She has told the BBC, “I’m really excited to come on board King Charles III - Mike Bartlett and Rupert Goold are two brilliant creatives. It’s such a unique project, to be both modern and rich in verse and to play someone who is real but yet totally re-imagined for this story, is an exciting prospect for an actor. Kate Middleton is a really interesting woman, particularly within the context of this play, and it is a challenge I am really looking forward to.”

Other members of the Royal Family are also written into the adaptation, as in the play, including: Prince William, Prince Harry and The Duchess of Cornwall.
However, from the behind-the-scenes images it appears that other additions have been made.
A child actor who bears a resemblance to Prince George was also photographed.
Many of Riley's co-stars have been recast from the play for the TV adaptation.
Tim Pigott-Smith will star as Charles, Oliver Chris as William, Richard Goulding as Harry and Margot Leicester as Camilla.
Adam James will also play a fictional Prime Minster.
As filming continues, we can be sure that there is plenty more to be revealed.
