AN INDIAN billionaire is facing jail time after he was involved in a horrible Lamborghini crash that saw a Swiss couple burn to death.
The real estate tycoon Vikas Oberoi, 54, was behind the wheel last week with his wife, Bollywood star Gayatri Joshi, when his high speed overtake caused a huge incident in Sardinia.
He was reportedly driving the Lamborghini as part of an Italian supercar tour last week with his famous film star wife in the passenger seat.
Oberoi and Joshi miraculously escaped injury and can be seen in the viral video of the crash signalling that they are okay when they spun off the road.
Gayatri, who starred in Bollywood blockbuster Swades, told India's Free Press Journal: “Vikas and I are in Italy.
“We met with an accident here.
“With God's grace, we both are absolutely fine.”
But today, prosecutors in Cagliari opened up an investigation into a double road homicide involving the billionaire, meaning he could face up to seven years in jail if he’s found guilty.
Oberoi is believed to be one of India's richest men.
The tycoon is the head of Oberoi Realty, a real estate developer which builds and sells expensive properties in Mumbai.

In the minute long clip, a blue Lamborghini tries to overtake a big white camper van by going into the opposite lane.
A red Ferrari then speeds alongside the moving Lambo and the pair touch, sending them flying towards the camper van and leaving all three in opposite directions.
The Ferrari is behind the tipped van and can’t be seen in the video, but according to local media it caught fire, trapping the poor couple inside as they burnt to death.
As the cars collide the woman in the video can be heard screaming before the daunting sound of the nasty impact can be heard.
Oberoi and Joshi in the blue Lamborghini ended up in a ditch.
A couple from Selva di Val Gardena, aged 61 and 62, who were in the van were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries alongside the famous Indian pair.
The remains of the three vehicles have been taken in by local authorities as they continue to investigate the incident.
Italian daily newspaper reported that the couple were leaving Forte Village and heading towards Mores.
