Raphy Pina, 43, is known as a Puerto Rican record producer.
He first rose to fame in the 1990s after launching Pina Records, which manages the likes of Daddy Yankee, R.K.M & Ken-Y, Natti Natasha, and Plan B.

Why was Raphy Pina arrested?
Pina's legal troubles date back to 2016 when he was convicted on federal fraud and money laundering charges.
Four years later, he was then accused of possessing two handguns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition, which he was barred from doing so, according to .
“On or about April 1, 2020, Pina-Nieves, who’s considered a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing or carrying firearms because of restrictions of a prior conviction, knowingly possessed one Glock pistol, Model 19, 9mm caliber, which was was modified to automatic, one Smith & Wesson, Model SD40, .40 caliber, and 526 total rounds of live ammunition for handguns, rifles, and shotguns,” according to legal documents obtained by the media outlet.

As a result of the allegations, he was arrested and charged with possession of an automatic weapon, and possession of firearms by a person who was convicted of a felony.
In December 2021, Pina was then found guilty and sentenced in May 2022 to 41 months in prison and ordered to pay a $150,000 sanction.
“We respect the jury’s decision but we are not in agreement,” Daddy Yankee said in December 2021 .
“At this moment, Pina is going through a very difficult process but he is calm and seems happy that he can at least spend New Year’s with his family, and that’s the most important thing. We get to spend the holidays with him and we’re happy about that.”
At this time, Pina has not appealed the conviction and is expected to surrender voluntarily to the United States Marshals before 3pm EST on May 24, 2022.
Upon release, he will then be placed under supervised release for three years, Billboard notes.

Following his divorce, he then started a relationship with Natti Natasha, and shortly after, the two got engaged.
