THE music world was rocked when rapper Lil Keed passed away suddenly.

The rising star, who had worked with Travis Scott, Young Thug, and Chris Brown, died at the age of 24 on May 13, 2022.

Who was Lil Keed?

Lil Keed was a 24-year-old American rapper born on March 16, 1998, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before breaking into the music industry, the artist briefly worked at Subway and McDonald's during his teenage years.

He first started making music with his younger brother Semaja Render, posting the songs online.

He was then signed to Young Thug's record label, YSL Records, as well as 300 Entertainment.

The rapper's first song to make it big was Nameless in 2018.

Both his studio albums Long Live Mexico and Trapped on Cleveland 3 charted on the Billboard 200.

Despite being relatively new to the music industry, he released several albums, singles, and mixtapes.

He even featured in Future’s song Undefeated and Lil Uzi Vert’s song Heavy Meta in 2018.

What was Lil Keed's cause of death?

Seven months after his death, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled that Lil Keed died of natural causes as a result of eosinophilia.

The rare condition results in sufferers having a "higher than normal level" of eosinophils - a type of white blood cell - in the body.

According to the , "this condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction or cancer".

reported that the coroner's report could not determine the underlying cause of the condition.
