Hagerty had most recently starred on HBO's which had just been renewed for its second season.
Who was Mike Hagerty?
Mike Hagerty started acting in Chicago, Illinois, with a local improv troupe and comedy launchpad Second City in the 1980s.
He earned one of his first roles on the sitcom Cheers in 1986 and built up his career over nearly four decades, appearing in more than 70 TV shows.
His first appearance on the renowned 1990s TV series Friends came in 1995 when he took on the persona of superintendent Mr Treeger.
He brought the character to life in The One With The Ballroom Dancing in the fourth season when Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, teaches him how to dance.

Hagerty appeared in five episodes of the sitcom from 1995 to 2001.
Other television appearances included Boston Legal, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Cheers, CSI, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, ER, Glee, Seinfeld, and the original Wonder Years.
When did Mike Hagerty die?
Hagerty's co-star on Somebody, Somewhere, Bridget Everett, confirmed in a post on Instagram that Hagerty died at 67 years old.
“With great sadness, the family of Michael G. Hagerty announced his death yesterday in Los Angeles,” Everett wrote.

Everett added in a second post, “I loved Mike the instant I met him. He was so special. Warm, funny, never met a stranger. We are devastated he has passed.”
Hagerty's cause of death has not yet been revealed.
He is survived by his wife Mary Kathryn, his daughter Meg, and his sister Mary Ann Hagerty.

Fans took to social media to express their anguish over the passing of Hagerty, a beloved actor, and comedian.
A journalist was due to meet with Hagerty before his untimely death, and wrote on Twitter, "Most depressing is that we were supposed to do an interview for my Substack newsletter when SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE premiered, but due to a scheduling issue, it never happened…and now it never will."
A 2018 post reflected how loved Hagerty was as an actor as one fan wrote next to his photo, "Name a more perfect man than Mike Hagerty... I'll wait."
