KIM Kardashian's sex tape from 2007 helped launch her to fame - with a little help from her mom Kris Jenner.

The infamous video was of her having sex with her then boyfriend Ray J.

Why is 'Kim Kardashian sex tape' trending?

The initial sex tape leaked in 2007, not long before the premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, making Kim a household name.

However, in April 2022 Kim's sex tape made the top hits list on popular adult site Pornhub after Ray J claimed there's another raunchy video.

A user shared a grab from the iconic tape and claimed that it was "number 13 on the hot porn videos in the United States" on Pornhub.

The user asked: "I wonder what sparked this new found interest?"

People were quick to respond in the comments section as one accused Kim of using the tape to promote the family's new Hulu show, The Kardashians.

They claimed: "She’s literally following the playbook for the first time their show aired. It’s so obvious.

"I’m sure they figured maybe it could work again, why not give it a shot."

Another said: "As seen on the Kardashians Hulu episode..."

A third said: "I think the sex tape drama is fake for the show now..."

Ray J’s manager threatened to leak “unreleased footage” from that same night in Mexico back in 2007.

Talk of another sex tape kicked off after Kim's own ex Kanye West claimed he had to put a stop to potential new footage being released.

During an interview with , Kanye recalled flying to meet Ray J and obtain the laptop on which he and Kim's sex tape lived.

He claimed: "I went and got the laptop from Ray J myself that night.

"I met this man at the airport, then got on a red-eye, came back [and] delivered it to her at 8am in the morning."

The hitmaker said: "She [Kim] cried when she saw it.

"You know why she cried when she seen it on the laptop? Because it represents how much she's been used.
