It all started on July 8, when Shawn took to social media to announce that he was postponing the next three weeks of tour dates to focus on his mental health.
"This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice," on Instagram and Twitter.

"After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I've hit a breaking point."

The tour began on June 27, 2022, in Portland, Oregon.
The tour was set to run through October 2022 but drew to an official close when Mendes once again posted to Instagram on July 27.

It reads: "As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn't totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me."
He continued, expressing his excitement at the tour's beginning to perform live once more after the cancellations caused by Covid-19.
He stated: "I need to take the time I've never taken to ground myself and come back stronger."
"I, unfortunately, have to cancel the rest of the tour date in North America and the UK/Europe."
Mendes wrapped up the post by promising that he'd be working on new music and that he'd be back as soon as he'd had time to heal.
