GILBERT Gottfried's fans feared for him in the weeks leading up to his tragic death at age 67.
A concerning video sadly showing his "frail" frame and other recent posts were hard for some to ignore.
On April 12th, 2022, Gilbert's family reported that the comedian died at the age of 67.
They announced the heartbreaking news on his social media platforms, writing: "Gilbert Gottfried made me laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. What a gift."
Gilbert's rep, Glenn Schwartz, revealed the actor died from a "heart abnormality called Ventricular Tachycardia due to Myotonic Dystrophy type II."
Gilbert was best known for his very distinctive voice, most famously showcased when he played the parrot Lago in the 1992 animated classic Aladdin - and he has remained active since, as "worried" fans knew.

The star continued touring and had a vibrant social media presence, though his latter days sparked concern for his thinning look according to some fans.
Despite his ever-upbeat demeanor - and comedy podcast that he recorded well into 2022 called - he appeared to changing in appearance off-mic.
"It’s Valentine's Day again so why don't you send a personalized shoutout from me, Gilbert Gottfried,” he declared to in a front-facing video wearing a plaid shirt and looking at the camera on February 1st.
Though one fan commented: "My favorite comedian!" another wrote, "Startled me."

'CONCERNING'
Fans were also worried by a February 15th advertising his active Cameo page.
The photo saw him wearing a blue shirt and many were confused by the sanitized-looking location.
"This is mildly concerning," one wrote.
"Are you wearing a hospital gown?" asked a second.
"See you in Toronto? Stay alive for my sake ok," a third joked - though in a style the envelope-pushing comic might have smiled at.
Under a March 12th Instagram of Gilbert with a peer, one user : "You're looking a little thin buddy. You ok?"
'SO FRAIL'
And seemingly live-tweeting a scenario in which a fan claimed to have been in a "bar" a Twitter wrote in a thread: "Gilbert do be frail though."
"Poor Gilbert man he's so frail," the fan continued on February 10th.
"He doesn't look like the Gilbert they knew."
A fun-loving March 12th Instagram post saw Gilbert pose with a long-time friend and podcast regular, "Svengoolie."
"Happy birthday @Svengoolie you don’t look a day over 1,000," the dad of two captioned it.
Though one fan bashed: "They both look a 1,000."
GILBERT'S LEGENDARY LEGACY
Gilbert was born on February 28, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York.
One of Gilbert's first big breaks was as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, which he stayed on for 12 episodes through 1981.
He appeared on USA Up All Night, Beverly Hills Cop II, and released 250-plus episodes of his podcast.
Jason Alexander, of Seinfeld, was one of the first to comment that he had passed away.
He tweeted: "Gilbert Gottfried made me laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. What a gift.
"I did not know him well but I loved what he shared with me. My best wishes and sympathy to his family."
"RIP Gilbert Gottfried," he added.
