Who is Paula Patton?
Paula Patton, 46, was born on December 5, 1975, and raised in Los Angeles, California.
She is of a mixed race background with a White-American mother and her African-American father.
After graduating from high school, she studied at the University of California, before transferring to the University of Southern California's Film School after one year.
She then won a three-month assignment making documentaries for PBS.

In 2000, Paula began making documentary segments for Medical Diaries on the Discovery Health Channel.
The multi-talented star provided vocals for Usher in 2004, on his album Confessions.
And after taking acting lessons her film career took off in 2005 when she appeared in Hitch alongside Will Smith.
Since then she has gone on to star in movies About Last Night and The Do-Over.

She married Blurred Lines singer Robin Thicke in 2005, but they divorced ten years later.

Why is Paula Patton trending?
The actress began trending on April 5, 2021, after showing off her mom's fried chicken recipe in an Instagram video on March 4.
Paula seasoned the chicken using the oil while cooking up her dish.
But fans criticized everything - from the recipe itself to Paula's cooking skills.
Viewers took to social media to slam her for not washing her chicken long enough before cooking and adding seasoning to the grease.
One tweeted: "I just took a break to watch Paula Patton fry chicken and now I need to apologize. To southerners, to chicken, grease, salt and seasonings Thoughts and prayers."
Another commented, referring to the Oscars slap incident: "It was a tough week last week after the Oscars. I would like to thank #PaulaPatton for reunifying the black community by showing us all how to not fry chicken. We can all agree this ain’t it."
What has Paula Patton said about her fried chicken recipe?
Despite the criticism, Paula said that she wouldn't change how she does things in a separate Insta post.
She said: "It's all good because everybody's got their own way of making things.
