Dave, 62, shared an extremely candid and equally candid cautionary tale in the caption on Thursday.

"I was a drunk," he wrote alongside the front-facing image that saw him seated with bleary eyes and a bloody face staring at the camera.

"Yes. An alcoholic. I’ve been alcohol free since January 1, 2020."

"When I drank, I was the life of the party. I could make people laugh until they fell down. In this picture I was the one who fell down."

The admission came just two months after cast-mate Bob Saget's devastating sudden death at 65 years old in January 2022 head trauma in an from an Orlando hotel room.

The TV actor continued: "I was hammered and fell, going up some stairs made of stone. I was always the 'final final' guy in the room. The 8 hours of drinking, laughter and funny stupidity was followed by two days of feeling like a bowl of dog mess.

"I loved booze, but it didn’t love me back."

He added on his sobriety journey two years strong: "I decided to make a decision for my own well-being, my family and for those around me who I love so dearly."

He concluded on the "amazing" recovery: "The sky is more blue, my heart is no longer closed, and I enjoy making people laugh ... more than ever before," thanking his wife Melissa Bring Coulier once again.

Coulier married Melissa in 2014 and they share one child, Luc.

'SO PROUD'

Fans and co-stars flooded the comments section in support.

"Love you and always proud of you," wrote Candace Cameron Bure, 45, who played D.J. Tanner in the long-running sitcom alongside Dave's lovable Uncle Joey.

Her former on-screen beau, Scott Weinger, also replied with clapping and heart emojis.

Drake and Josh alum Josh Peck commented: "Much respect my friend, love you."

The popular 90s sitcom show first aired in September 22, 1987, and lasted for 192 episodes before being canceled in 1995.

All seven of the original cast members remained through its entire eight-year run.

However, the image of a perfect American family that imparted lessons in the third act of each wholesome episode turned less-than-perfect off-screen.

JOHN STAMOS GETS SOBER

John Stamos, who attended Bob's 2022 funeral and played Uncle Jesse Katsopolis for the entire run - is now sober.

He was arrested for DUI in June 2015.

He was later formally charged and pleaded no contest, receiving three years probation.

John was reportedly driving under the influence of party drug GHB at the time of his arrest and went into a rehab facility to get treatment.

"I lost my mother last year, who was the love of my life - obviously a difficult time for me," he told NBC in 2015.

John also reflected later that year on how John Peck - who commented on Dave's new post - helped him.

"Josh Peck was a big inspiration in my recovery," John told .

The former ABC star and Nickelodeon star joined forces for the show Grandfathered on Fox in 2015.

"I'm on this show with this guy who was then in recovery for many, many years, playing my son. That part was meant to be," John said.

"I wouldn't be alive if I hadn't straightened up, and he [Josh] was certainly part of it."

JODIE'S SOBRIETY

Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner (one of Bob's characters' daughters) got sober in 2008 and later became certified as a drug and alcohol counselor, per Fox News.

She made a shocking confession in a 2006 interview with Good Morning America when she admitted she had been addicted to methamphetamine.

"There is a certain sense of loss when a series ends," said Sweetin, revealing her habit began after Full House went off the air in 1995.

"It is kind of hard to figure out who you are when you've lost your job at age 13, when that was basically how you identified yourself."

SHOCKING DEATH

The Sheriff’s Department and fire department responded to the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando around 4pm after Bob - who played matriarch Danny Tanner - was found in his room by hotel security.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No narcotics or alcohol were found in Mr. Saget’s system, the Orange County's Sheriff's Department earlier confirmed.

He starred opposite John and Dave as the proverbial father figures of the show.

His TV daughters were played by Candace, Jodie, and twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

They have struggled with eating disorders with the former is mysteriously linked to Heath Ledger's death by prescription pill overdose.

Heath died in 2008 at 28 after overdosing on a number of prescription pills but it has never been established why his masseuse called Olsen’s cell phone before calling the cops.

Bob, for his part, is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three children.
