SIMON Cowell has revealed his next multi million dollar business venture is to make children's animations just like hit film Sing.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, the TV mogul, 62, revealed he gets emotional about his success after he was "awful" at school and teachers thought he'd amount to nothing.

Simon said he loved the blockbuster animated movie Sing and its sequel so much he is annoyed he didn't think of it himself.

He told The Sun: "I would love to make an animated movie. It’s the one thing I have never done and I’d love to do... but I think it’s a brilliant idea.

“And I do think it will work because when I watch those Sing movies, as much as I love them, I feel sick.

"Because it’s like, 'God, I wish I made those.'"

The America's Got Talent judge even admitted he had a movie project underway, before adding: “I’ll tell you in a couple months what it is.”

The music mogul promised that his movie dream will reach the big screen, because his will always overcomes obstacles and naysayers.

He said: “None of these things are easy, because most of the projects we’ve ever done including Got Talent, you’re always told. 'No. It will never work… blah blah blah…'

“So, you've just got to be persistent.  If I really am passionate about something, I just keep going until I can wear somebody down. That’s kind of what I do.”

Simon also revealed he had become emotional when he earned the Key to The Strip honor in Las Vegas following the success of his sell out AGT show at the Luxor Theater.

I was so awful in school."

When Simon was handed the Key to the Strip last weekend, alongside comedian Howie Mandel, in front of the cast, cameras caught him wiping away tears of joy.

He revealed he was "awful" at school and teachers believed he wouldn't amount to anything - so achieving success in the US was extremely emotional to him.

"It’s very difficult to put it into words because I was so awful in school," he said.

'IT'S EVERYTHING'

“All my teachers said to me I’ll be terrible when I go to work.

"So, to see a show [poster] of mine on this massive building in Vegas it’s honestly incredible.

“I just wish my mom and dad were still here to see that. They would’ve been so proud because I was talking to them when I was a kid about things I’d do in Vegas.

“They knew how much it meant to me so yeah, it’s everything.”

It comes after the talent show boss was rushed to hospital following another terrifying e-bike smash back in February.

Sources said the TV star is lucky to be alive after he was propelled over the handlebars and onto the road at 20mph — while not wearing a helmet.

Earlier in the year, Simon proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Silverman while they were on holiday in Barbados.
