Inside Sam Hunt’s tumultuous marriage as pregnant wife Hannah files for divorce & accuses singer of cheating
SAM Hunt’s tumulus marriage hit a breaking point when his pregnant wife Hannah Lee Fowler filed for divorce and accused the singer of cheating.
The 37-year-old singer married Hannah, 36, in 2017.
EARLY DAYS
Sam and Hannah first began dating in 2008 and they continued to date on-and-off for years.
Hannah served as the inspiration for many of Sam's songs, while he wrote his debut album, Montevallo, about her.
Back in 2014, Sam spoke to about the inspiration behind his album- which was named after Hannah's hometown.
He said: "I spent a lot of time talking to her about songs. I probably should have included her as a co-writer on a lot of these songs because I spent a lot of time chatting with her."
Sam continued: "I got a lot of insight into females in general from being in a close relationship with her. I used a lot of that when writing on the songs, because a lot of the songs are relationship-based. I didn’t want it to be just extra-macho.”
SHORT BREAKUP
The couple eventually split for some time before they reconciled in 2016.

Sam opened up about how he won Hannah back during a 2017 interview with .
He said at the time: "I think last summer I went out [to Hawaii] about seven times in about three months. Trying to talk to her about coming back. And the seventh trip I convinced her."

The singer continued to give fans a glimpse into their relationship in his 2017 song Drinkin' Too Much, which touched on past problems in their romance.
Sam issued numerous apologies to Hannah in the song as he sings: “I’m sorry I named the album Montevallo / I’m sorry people know your name now and strangers hit you up on social media / I’m sorry you can’t listen to the radio / I know you want your privacy / You’ve got nothing to say to me / But I wish you’d let me pay off your student loans with these songs you gave to me."
He even called Hannah directly by her name in the song, singing: “You changed your number and moved and this is the only way I can reach you / Hannah Lee, I’m on my way to you.”
ENGAGEMENT
Nearly a decade after they first got together, the pair got engaged in January 2017.
However, there was trouble in paradise even before the country singer popped the question.
According to photos circulated of the singer with a mystery woman before he proposed to Hannah.
The photos caused many fans to wonder if the pair had split, while others assumed Sam had been cheating on Hannah.
Despite the cheating rumors, confirmed their engagement in 2017.
ROCKY PROPOSAL
The couple kept information about their engagement relatively private, though Sam did reveal he popped the question during a trip to Israel while appearing on
He said: "[We] got engaged over by the Sea of Galilee."
The day did not go according to plan, as Sam revealed they got into a fight before he asked for her hand in marriage.
The singer shared: "Something came up that irritated her and I realized this may mess up my big plan to ask her to marry me that night, and it kind of agitated me more about this issue.
"It turned into this kind of fight that, fortunately, led to the perfect opportunity to ask her to marry me. So this little altercation we had actually worked out. It was a special moment."
NEWLYWEDS
Sam and Hannah went on to tie the knot in April 2017 during an intimate ceremony in Georgia.
Shortly after they tied the knot, Sam spoke to E! News about his life as a married man.
According to he said it felt "great" to be married to Hannah, adding that "there's a spiritual strength" to wearing his wedding band.
The singer continued: "I feel a little bit taller now that I'm wearing it."
HOPES FOR A FAMILY
Back in July 2021, Sam revealed he wanted to have kids with Hannah.
During an appearance on , the country singer shared his thoughts on starting a family.
He said: "We've been talking about it for a while, but we've really started thinking about it seriously here these past few months, so that's on the agenda right now.
"And I'm hoping that we'll have some good news sooner than later."
DRINKING PROBLEMS
One month after discussing his plans to start a family, Sam pleaded guilty to a 2019 DUI charge in August 2021.
According to , Sam was arrested in November 2019 after he reportedly had a blood alcohol content level of 0.173.
The number was well above the legal limit of 0.08.
The Drinkin' Too Much singer was taken into custody after he was spotted driving the wrong way down a road in Nashville, Tennessee, according to .
reported that Sam pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges related the to arrest.
He was originally sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in jail, though he was eventually sentenced to serve 48 hours at the DUI Education Centers and complete an alcohol safety course.
Sam also lost his license for a year, while his car had an interlock installed that will stay until he gets his license back.
More recently, a police report showed the singer admitted to drinking.
He allegedly agreed to take a field sobriety test, which showed "numerous signs of impairment."
It was reported that the incident was recorded by police on an officer's car dash camera.
THE DIVORCE
On Monday, it was reported that Hannah had filed for divorce from Sam and accused him of cheating during their marriage.
According to , the legal documents revealed Hannah’s currently pregnant and due in May.
She alleged in the paperwork: "The husband is guilty of such cruel and inhuman treatment or conduct toward the spouse as renders cohabitation unsafe or improper.”
Hannah reportedly wants primary custody of their child once he or she is born, as well as alimony and child support.
The docs state Sam's ex wants "transitional alimony, rehabilitative alimony, and alimony in futuro."
