Despite testing positive for Covid, it had no direct link to his death, as there was "no evidence of acute or chronic inflammation by microscopy," the report reads.

It was previously revealed Saget had been struck down some three weeks before but family and friends claimed he'd fully recovered.

The report from Orange County Medical Examiner also shows "the decedent suffered an unwitnessed fall backwards and struck the posterior aspect of his head."

Saget had a number of injuries, including abrasion of the posterior scalp, subgaleal hemorrhage, linear fracture of the base of the skull, comminuted fractures, subdural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and contusions.

His death has been ruled as an accident.

The autopsy was performed by Dr Joshua Stephany who concluded: "In consideration of the circumstances surrounding the death, and after examination of the body, toxicology analysis, microscopic analysis, respiratory pathogen panel testing, bilateral long cultures, and postmortem CT, it is my opinion that the death of Robert Saget, a 65-year-old white male found unresponsive in a hotel room, is the result of blunt head trauma."

The report also details how the comedian had an enlarged heart and coronary artery disease, but they were not factors in his death.
