Why did Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner get divorced?
Affleck and Garner first met on the set of Pearl Harbor back in 2000 and ultimately started dating in 2004.
They tied the knot the following year.
They were once considered a Hollywood 'it' couple but shocked fans in 2015 when they announced their divorce.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said in a statement to at the time.
"We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

At this time, the exact reason for the divorce still remains unclear but many believe part of the reason was due to his alcohol addiction, which he has since overcome.
In 2020, Affleck sat down with where he revealed that the divorce was one of his biggest regrets.
"The biggest regret of my life is this divorce," he told the media outlet. "Shame is really toxic. There is no positive byproduct of shame. It's just stewing in a toxic, hideous feeling of low self-worth and self-loathing.
"I have certainly done things that I regret," he added. "But you've got to pick yourself up, learn from it, learn some more, try to move forward."

Who is Ben Affleck with now?
Following his divorce, Affleck dated a few women, including Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus.
However, it was not until July 2021 that the movie star rekindled a former flame.
At the time, it was revealed that he was seeing his ex-fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, 52, again, following her split from Alex Rodriguez.
Lopez and Affleck got engaged in 2002 but they called it quits in January 2004.
"I was eviscerated. I lost my sense of self, questioned if I belonged in this business, thought maybe I did suck at everything," Lopez told in 2017.
Despite the heartbreak, the two managed to find each other again and got married on July 16, 2022, in Las Vegas.
