Nick Cannon to continue filming talk show amid son Zen’s brain cancer death as he admits ‘work is what keeps him going’
NICK Cannon plans to continue filming his talk show following the death of son Zen, who had brain cancer, as 'work is what keeps him going.'
The actor, 41, has no intention of slowing down amid the loss.
Zen was five months old when he died from brain cancer.
He passed away on December 5 and Nick broke the news on Tuesday, during an episode of The Nick Cannon Show.
spoke with Nick as he left an endodontist's office, where he had three root canals done.
Although he was admittedly a bit "loopy" after his procedures, he told the outlet that work had been helping him continue on in the wake of his son's death.
He indicated that there would be no slowing down, telling TMZ: "Since I got the news about this process I've been dealing with it. Work is one of those things that kind of helps me push through, so we gonna continue to push through."
Asked what he would recommend to other families going through this, he said: "Prayer."

Nick also said that Zen taught him "so much." He added that most of what he learned from his son in their short time together was "about fatherhood."
As for ex Alyssa Scott, Zen's mother, Nick said: "She's maintaining."
As The Sun previously reported, she "did not know" he planned to announce his child's death on TV.
IN MEMORIAM
Since announcing that his child died, Nick has spoken about him several times.
He has also found ways to honor him, and told TMZ he plans to continue to do son.
So far, he has paid tribute to his baby boy with a tattoo.
The ink, located on his rib cage, shows Zen as an angel.
Nick showed off the tattoo on Friday, during an episode of The Nick Cannon Show.
Across the angel was a shawl that read "Zen."
Nick said on the show that getting the tattoo on his rib cage was "painful," but added that it was worth "every minute."
He continued: "Last night, I got the opportunity to go get a tattoo of my son Zen as an angel on my rib.
"It was a lot of pain but it was so well worth it. I enjoyed every moment of the experience to forever have my son right here as my rib.
"Right here on my side as my angel."

He shared: "Over the weekend, I love my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus...brain cancer.
"It's tough. and I have my therapist here, who's been helping us through it."
Nick revealed that his baby boy was two months old when they discovered what they thought was a sinus problem.
They learned quickly that it was actually fluid building in his brain.
Doctors found a malignant brain tumor that required surgery and placed a shunt to help train the fluid.
"We were hopeful, he was playing with his brothers and sister," Nick said. "I embraced every moment."
MIMI'S SUPPORT
Nick has seen an outpouring of support from his peers and fans.
Even ex-wife Mariah Carey reached out.
After Zen's death she contacted him, reported.
"Mariah has reached out to Nick in private to express her deepest and most sincere condolences for the loss of his son," a source close to the musician said.
"She is not expected to say anything about it publicly and she will not discuss it if asked about it because Mariah prefers to keep these types of matters private."

Mariah and Nick, who has fathered seven children, were married for six years prior to their split in August 2014.
Nick filed for divorce in January 2015, but he and Mariah remained friendly and continued to co-parent twins Monroe and Moroccan.
