Who was Nick Cannon's son Zen and what was his cause of death?
On Tuesday's episode of The Nick Cannon Show, the television personality revealed to the audience that his 5-month-old son, Zen, died from a brain cancer.
His cancer reportedly took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving.
Cannon continued to say he spent Zen's remaining days together in California, where he held his son for the last time near the ocean on Sunday, December 5.
Zen reportedly died shortly after their trip to the beach, according to Cannon.
Doctors discovered the cancer when Zen was about two months old.
"Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer," said Cannon on his show.
"It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it."
Cannon and model Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen on June 23, 2021.

On his talk show on Tuesday morning, Cannon shared with the audience the final moments leading up to the death of his five-month-old son, Zen.

"We got to spend the weekend with him. I said I feel like I want to go to the water, to the ocean," he said.
Cannon went on to explain that he typically flies back to New York on Sundays, but when he arrived to the airport he felt the need to turn around and return to his family.
"I didn’t know I was going to handle today, but I just really wanted to grieve with my family and people who love me," he continued.
"I felt like I will go through it to grow through it, I have so much faith in the Lord and faith in God."
What has Alyssa Scott said?
While she has not yet made a statement, model Alyssa Scott posted multiple photos and videos of her late son, Zen, to her Instagram story on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
Her last Instagram post was following Halloween, and showcases her with her two children, Zen and Melody.
The post features a picture of the three of them wearing Halloween costumes, and is captioned: "MY WORLD🧡".
What is hydrocephalus?
Hydrocephalus is the buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain.
Because of the excess fluid, pressure is put on the brain, causing damage to brain tissue and brain function problems.
While hydrocephalus can occur at any age, it is most common amongst infants and adults aged 60 and over.

Some signs and symptoms of hydrocephalus can include a swollen head, nausea and vomiting, and seizures.
