What did Scott Disick say about Kourtney Kardashian's engagement to Travis Barker?

In an episode of The Kardashians that came out May 5, 2022, Scott Disick's reaction to his ex-girlfriend, Kourtney, and Travis Barker's engagement was finally revealed.

Since Travis popped the question in October 2021, fans have taken to the internet trying to guess Scott's reaction.

Most users were speculating that Scott was upset about the engagement, and yet, he kept quiet.

Until the episode on May 5, when cameras finally got his (close-to--candid) reaction.

Kourtney's sister Khloé went over to Scott's house to check on him.

While talking, Scott admitted that while he'd always love Kourtney, he was happy for her, and that the only thing he feared was being disregarded by the family.

“I mean, don’t get me wrong: I’ll always love your sister," he told Khloé.

"So I wasn’t that caught off guard. I mean I thought they had already been married the way that she was talking. So it wasn’t crazy," he said.

"Thank god -- Because in another time in my life if I would’ve heard that, it would’ve been over for me."

He continued: "Thank god, it does give me a lot of relief that she is happy. Somebody else is taking care of her. I kind of, in a selfish way, feel like a lot has been lifted off of me."

"I think in the end, it’s kind of a good thing. I couldn’t do the job of being with her. So I salute Travis. Like, he’s in for a lot of work.”

When asked by Khloé if he meant the whole family dynamic, Scott quickly reacted, saying, “No! The family’s the best part. Kourtney is not the simplest when it comes to everything.”

“They can have their life,” he continued. “I just don’t want to be pushed out of family affairs that include the kids and things that we normally would do. I just don’t want to lose the dynamic of having all of you guys.”

Kourtney's ex was, however, still reeling from the fact that his and Kourtney's three kids weren't invited to her surprise proposal.

Their daughter Penelope, 9, took it especially hard, breaking down into tears.

"Because they were too young," was Khloé's excuse, but ultimately admitted that it was Mom-ager Kris' decision who should be there.

How did Travis Barker propose to Kourtney Kardashian?

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, the Blink-182 drummer led his then-girlfriend to the beach outside of Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California.

The beach was covered in an elaborate floral arrangement made up of red roses, and surrounded by white candles.

A bystander recorded and shared a video, showing the two in the middle of the floral arrangement. Travis then gets down on one knee, and pulls a ring from behind his back.
