Zak Williams, who is now a mental health advocate, released new details surrounding his father on what would have been his 70th birthday.
On July 21, Zak talked about his father's misdiagnosis and the trauma that came after his suicide.
"What I saw was frustration," Zak revealed on podcast.
"What he was going through didn't match one to one [with what] many Parkinson's patients experience," he continued. "So, I think that was hard for him."
Williams was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease before his death, but years after, it was revealed he actually suffered from LBD.
"There was a focus issue that frustrated him, there were issues associated with how he felt and also from a neurological perspective he didn't feel great," Zak continued. "He was very uncomfortable."
Zak believes that his father's medication did more harm than good since it was not treating the right disease.
"Those drugs are no joke," he said. "They're also really hard on the mind and the body."
