Justin Timberlake ‘set up’ Janet Jackson Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction to outdo ex-girlfriend Britney Spears
JUSTIN Timberlake reportedly pushed for Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe malfunction.
Janet's stylist revealed in a new interview Justin was trying to outdo his ex-girlfriend, , with the infamous reveal.
Stylist Wayne Scot Lukas revealed in the article Justin “insisted on doing something bigger than their performance."
He wanted a "reveal" in order to top Britney Spears, Madonna and Christina Aguilera's infamous kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Wayne said Janet was initially planning to wear a pearl G-string inspired by what Kim Cattrall wore on “Sex and the City.”
He shared: “Janet was going to be in a Rocha dress, and [Justin] was going to step on the back of her dress to reveal her butt in this pearl G-string.
However, “the outfit changed a couple of days before, and you saw the magic.”
Wayne went on: “I wouldn’t call it a wardrobe ‘malfunction’ in a million years. It was the most functioning wardrobe in history. As a stylist, it did what it was intended to do."
Justin recently apologized about the incident, and Wayne added: “Janet has already forgiven Justin in private. They made their peace a long time ago."
He is writing a tell-all book about his career but confirmed he won't be dishing more on Janet for the work.
“I’ll never throw her under the bus. She’s my friend and is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever worked for. There’s nothing shady about her."
In February, Justin apologized to both Britney Spears and for his past actions, in which he admitted he "contributed to the problem" of misogyny.
Justin wrote: "I understand that I fell short in these moments and in many others and benefitted from a system that condones misogyny and racism.
"I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed."
