Who is Effie and what did she say about Armie Hammer?

ARMIE Hammer was accused of cannibalism and sexual assault by several women.

One of the first accusers to make allegations against The Social Network actor was a woman named Effie, who prefers to keep her last name private out of safety concerns.

Who is Effie and what did she accuse Armie Hammer of?

On January 10, 2021, an Instagram account called House of Effie shared alleged screenshots of messages between an unknown person and an account that appeared to belong to actor Armie Hammer.

Effie's last name is unknown and she said she would reveal only her first name because she feared for her life.

On May 18, 2021, Effie and her then-attorney Gloria Allred held a press conference and recalled the events surrounding the alleged abuse that transpired between her and Hammer.

"I met Armie Hammer on Facebook in 2016 when I was 20 years old, I fell in love with him instantly."

Effie alleged that Hammer raped her and "repeatedly" slammed her head "against a wall bruising my face."

Allred later claimed that there are photographs of Effie's "visible injuries."

Effie remembered: "I thought he was going to kill me," adding that she felt "immense guilt" for not speaking out sooner "because I feel I might have been able to save others from becoming victims."

Effie said the alleged abuse Hammer inflicted caused her to have suicidal thoughts and she tearfully confessed: "I just lost interest in living. I just wanted the pain to stop."

"Looking back, it is now clear to me he was employing manipulation tactics in order to exert control over me until I started to lose myself.

"He would often test my devotion to him, slyly removing and crossing my boundaries, as he became increasingly more violent.

"He abused me mentally, emotionally, and sexually. I could not comprehend or overcome what he did to me.

"Over the years since the assault, on many occasions, the invasive flashbacks were so excruciating they made me feel there was no way out but to take my own life.

How did Armie Hammer respond to the allegations?

Hammer has repeatedly denied Effie's rape accusations and maintains that the relationship was consensual.

The Death on the Nile actor's attorney Andrew Brettler released a statement to and said: “[Effie’s] own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations.

"As recently as July 18, 2020, [Effie] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her.

“Mr. Hammer responded by making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her.

“It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose [Effie’s] fetishes or kinky sexual desires, but she has now escalated this matter to another level by hiring a civil lawyer to host a public press conference.

Hammer's lawyer added: “With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight.

“From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [Effie] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.

"[Effie’s] attention-seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.” 

According to Hammer's recollection to : "This alleged rape was a scene that was her idea.

"Every single thing was discussed beforehand. I have never thrust this on someone unexpectedly. Never.

"I'm here to admit my own mistakes, take accountability for the fact that I was an a**hole, that I was selfish, that I used people to make me feel better, and when that was done, moved on."

The Los Angeles Police Department has "launched a sexual assault investigation over the allegations of rape and assault made against the actor Armie Hammer."

Hammer has not been charged with any crime or wrongdoing.

However, the LA County District Attorney’s Office told the aforementioned outlet: “A specially assigned prosecutor is working with law enforcement as they continue their investigation.

“Once law enforcement has completed their investigation and submits the case to our office, we will conduct an evaluation and file criminal charges that are supported by the evidence.”
