Loretta Lynn was an American country singer and songwriter.

She is best known for her songs You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man) and Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' on Your Mind).

She was the most-awarded female country recording artist.

Her family announced in a statement she passed away at the age of 90 at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

How did her husband Oliver Lynn die? 

Lynn’s husband Oliver passed away five days before his 70th birthday in August of 1996.

His death was attributed to diabetes-related complications and heart disease.

Lynn and Oliver were married for nearly 50 years.

Lynn and Oliver had six children together, including two who have passed away.

Betty Sue Lynn died at age 64 of emphysema near her mother's ranch in 2013.

Jack Benny Lynn passed away at the age of 35 in July of 1984 trying to walk across the Duck River at the family's ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Their other children include Clara Marie "Cissie," 68, Ernest Ray "Ernie," 69, and twins Peggy Jean and Patsy Eileen Lynn, 56.

Some of her biggest hits included Coal Miner's Daughter, The Pill, Rated X and You're Looking at Country.

Her life was made into a motion picture, Coal Miner's Daughter. The movie was based on her book. Actress Sissy Spacek portrayed Lynn in the film.

Spacek won the Academy Award for her portrayal.
