The Voice contestant Linda Jennings says John Lennon’s ghost visited her before her audition

WACKY The Voice contestant Linda Jennings says she was inspired to win the ITV show after being approached in her sleep by John Lennon’s ghost.

The singer from Bolton, 49, was dubbed “the new Honey G” by fans during last week’s episode as she sported a huge pair of sunglasses and called herself “Linda J” during her audition.

And now Linda, blew the coaches away with her performance of Long and Winding Road, has revealed that the Beatles’ legend came to her in a vision and gave her advice ahead of her debut performance.

She told Sir Tom Jones, who chose Linda for his team: “John Lennon came right up to me, a vision of him.

“And he goes ‘you’re going to be alright.’ I was scared to death. I kept playing his records, I was like OMG.

“John Lennon is probably giving me a little nudge.”

Sir Tom, 76, admitted that he thought John’s ghost gave her the “right” words of wisdom, saying: “He was right, you were alright after that.”

Linda later admitted that she would hope John would have also turned his spinning red chair for her if he was a coach on The Voice – just as Sir Tom, Gavin Rossdale and Will.I.Am did.

She added: “If John Lennon was on The Voice I’d hope he would turn for me…Maybe he might not though as I sung a McCartney penned song.”

Despite comparisons to X Factor’s Honey G, Linda confessed that she could never rap because of her Bolton accent.

Speaking on the show, she said: “I am in loads of bands, like country bands, cover bands, jazz with my partner John and I have started another duo with a friend called Helen.

“I don’t do any rapping though, not with a Bolton accent. I am really in to having my own style.”

Linda will be taking on band Into the Ark in the second Battle Round of the ITV show on Sunday evening.
