Simon Cowell lived in a house so haunted the previous owners called in EXORCISTS… but he wasn’t scared
The X-Factor supremo reveals a poltergeist past as he tells of his haunted house in South West London
SIMON COWELL has seen some freaky things on X Factor over the years – but he has been hiding an even spookier secret.
The music boss is being haunted and claims he has experienced a series of supernatural experiences.
In an exclusive interview at his lavish pad in Malibu, Simon told me all about his belief in paranormal activity — including one particularly frightening incident where his landlord had to call an exorcist.
He said: “I had one in my house once — and this is an absolutely true story.
“I was living in Kingston Hill in South West London and my mum and dad were staying with me next door.
“I heard this banging on the door and I went to my mum and dad’s room and said, ‘You were banging on my door.’
“They said, ‘What do you mean? It wasn’t us.’
“So I went back into my bedroom and then it was literally like someone banging on the door. There was a dog in the house freaking out and then my parents left to go home.
“The following day I heard this crashing noise and all the stuff had fallen in the kitchen.
“I later found out that the land where my house was on was part of a bigger house.
“It got so bad they had to call in an exorcist.”
I sat down with Simon, moments after he had finished deliberating over which acts to take through from the judges’ houses on X Factor to the live finals.
It is the first time Simon has had the Girls category and he has lucked out with one of the strongest groups in the competition, meaning LOUIS WALSH, SHARON OSBOURNE and NICOLE SCHERZINGER had better watch out for the boss.

Thankfully, there were no signs of any apparitions in Malibu — although I’m sure the ghost of SINITTA, who turned down Simon’s invite because of work commitments, was present somewhere.
Simon’s ghostly incident was the first of many — but he claims he’s not scared one bit.
“On that particular occasion there was definitely a presence but I wasn’t afraid.
“Before I had an encounter, I thought it might be like how you see in the movies with a sheet moving across the room, but I thought it was someone trying to make contact.”
