Calvin Harris splits from model girlfriend Aarika Wolf after four years as they struggle with long distance
CALVIN Harris has split from his model girlfriend Aarika Wolf after four years together.
The couple lived in California but their relationship became strained after Calvin decided to spend more time away from the US.
They mutually decided to separate following a discussion about their future together, during which it became clear that the distance would be an issue.
A source said: “Their split is amicable but their relationship had been strained for quite some time.
“Calvin wanted to spend more time away from the US, including on his farm in Ibiza, but Aarika is based in the States.
“He has a busy year on the cards with lots of shows being booked which means he will be away on the road even more.
“They discussed their future as a couple and decided now is a good time to call it a day. It’s really sad but they both know it is for the best.”
Despite the pair only recently deciding to split, they haven’t been pictured together in several months.
The couple have a lengthy history after first meeting when she played his love interest in the video to his No1 hit Blame in 2014.
They started dating seriously in 2018 and showed their commitment to each other by getting a golden retriever called Boris and a cat named Gregg together.
In recent months Calvin has been focused on recording a new album and last week announced a homecoming show at Hampden Park in Glasgow for July, which has already sold out.
His last full album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, came out in 2017 and since then he has released three EPs under his alias Love Regenerator.
But he is expected to release a new album under his own name later this year.
In January, The Sun revealed the DJ was working on a farm which he had bought in Ibiza, after selling his two mansions in Los Angeles.
The 138-acre estate called Terra Masia is the island’s largest organic farm and also hosts special events including weddings.
Last summer Calvin scored his 27th Top Ten hit when he teamed up with Tom Grennan for the track By Your Side.
Speaking at the time he said: “I couldn’t think of anyone else that could suit it, to be honest with you.

“I started following him on Instagram. And I was struck by his positivity, his relentless positivity in his posts.
“So when I figured out what the song was going to sound like, he seemed like such an obvious choice.”
