EastEnders’ Callum Highway finally confronts his homophobic dad after he finds out about his affair with Ben Mitchell
CALLUM Highway is set for a shock in EastEnders next week when his homophobic dad Jonno arrives back in Walford and finds out his son is involved with Ben Mitchell.
As the week gets underway, Ben – who’s played by Max Bowden in the BBC soap - begins to wonder if it’s a good idea for him and Callum to go on a date after both Ian Beale and Jay Brown comment on history with men.
They’ve got a good point as two of Ben’s former lovers are dead.
Ben’s head is all over the place when Callum’s brother, Stuart, arrives at The Arches and pleads with him not to hurt Callum.
But despite his doubts and the unwanted advice, Ben meets up with Callum. But Callum is gutted when Jay and Lola turn up too.
Ben makes no effort with Callum during the date, which leaves Callum feeling hurt.
Stuart is secretly pleased to learn that the date didn’t go well, but his upbeat mood soon switches when Jonno arrives. Later Jonno spots Callum on the Square and things quickly escalate between them.
Later, when Callum – Tony Clay - discovers that Stuart meddled in his date, he tries to explain to Ben and is left feeling confused when he doesn’t get the response he was after.
Lola offers Callum some advice which leads Callum to seeking out Ben at the pub and declaring he wants to go on another date.
