The Chase’s Mark Labbett left stunned as he’s beaten by contestants in shock £75,000 win
THE Chase star Mark Labbett was left stunned tonight as he was beaten by ballsy contestants who took home a huge £75,000 win.
He rubbed his hands with delight when Marge chose to compete for £63,000 - but he wasn't laughing for long.
The grandmother proved she wasn't just all talk as she took back the money for her team to add to their £12,000 prize money.
They then answered 17 correct questions to give themselves a decent lead against Mark before going into the final chase.
After a number of mistakes from the chaser - nicknamed The Beast - the contestants unexpectedly pipped him to the post and were awarded the prize fund of £25,000 each.
One planned to spend it on a road trip around the US, another wanted to buy lots of shoes with money left over and the third chose to buy a car.
Host Bradley Walsh said: "I'm thrilled for you by the way.
"Eight attempts at push back, five executed.
"It's all about the push backs, well played. £25,000 each!"
Beaten Mark said: "I don't feel too guilty because two errors under pressure and perhaps another I could have got.
"That doesn't matter because the key thing is you punished my mistakes and played brilliantly.
"Thanks to Marge you got £25,000 each - bravo!"
