BAKE Off 2019 star Phil Thorne is terrified he will only be remembered for his willy rocket cake, after being booted out of the competition last night.

The HGV driver was given the elbow after failing to impress during dairy week, and fears the phallic treat he created in the first week of the show will be the lasting memory viewers have of his culinary skills.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: "I did cause a bit of a stir but I put that down to filthy minds.

“I was innocently making a rocket nose cone and I wanted to perfect it without any innuendo.”

The first episode of the tenth series got off to a great start, with some soggy bottoms, some showstoppers, and naughty cake-based innuendos that got the viewers talking.

In the instalment the 56-year-old looked as if he was performing a sex act as he piped icing on his creation.

Smutty viewers were quick to comment on the way Paul gripped and kneaded the dough, which made for hilarious viewing.

Earlier in the episode Paul was left red-faced after mishearing Helena Garcia, 40, call her “fairy garden” birthday cake a “furry garden”.

Blushing Spanish-born Helena, of Leeds, laughed: “Oh Paul, I know what you’re thinking.”

The 53-year-old celebrity chef admitted his mistake, and then asked: “How big is your . . . erm . . . fairy garden?”

Later David Atherton, 36, revealed he was making a snake cake, for the Showstopper Challenge - which this week was to be a "birthday cake of your childhood dreams".

While talking to David about his reptile inspired cake, Paul revealed he used to have “a slowworm” when he was a kid – this promoted a lovely bit of innuendo from host Noel Fielding.

The 46-year-old co-host said: “Some of us have snakes, some of us have worms Paul” – cheeky!

Great British Bake Off challenges the bakers with first ever Dairy Week

Last night's episode saw even more witty puns cleverly woven in.

Steph Blackwell was crowned star baker, as she impressed with her mishti, which Paul likened to a hot dog.

He said: "They look like a hot dog", to which Steph replied: "I'm open to suggestions about what they remind you of."

A red-faced Noel added: "Pink Panther's hot dog."
