EMMERDALE have sacked Asan N’Jie after he was filmed threatening to “knife” and “kill” Hollyoaks’ Jamie Lomas, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
We first revealed shocking details of their bust-up at the TV Choice Awards in London yesterday.
Pictures and footage of the row between Asan, 25, and Jamie, 44, reveals the pair squaring up to one another Asan was recorded threatening to “knife” him.
The decision to terminate Asan’s contract was taken following a meeting today.
A spokesperson confirmed the news and said in a statement: “Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
“ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan's contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”
Asan issued a grovelling apology and said in a statement: “My behaviour at the TV Choice Awards was completely unacceptable and very much out of character.
“I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
“I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this.”
A source told The Sun: “Asan is full of remorse for actions and knows he acted in a foolish and idiotic manner. He knows he has thrown away what would have been a successful career on one of TV’s biggest shows.
“He doesn’t the use of knives or violence and said he has no idea what he was thinking.”
Following the incident, Asan had told pals he would “get down on his hands and knees and beg” to keep his job.
Asan, who joined the ITV soap as Ellis Chapman last year, became embroiled in a row with Jamie after the ceremony at London's Hilton Park Lane hotel.
The dispute, which is said to involve money, is believed to have been started by Asan - who was heard goading Jamie.
As the atmosphere turned toxic, the young star had to be restrained and could be heard shouting: “Do you think you are a f***ing big man, I’m going to f***ing kill you.”
He also shouted: “I’m going to f***ing knife you.”
Jamie was seen being bundled away from Asan by pals as he shouted the taunts.
Asan was then removed from the hotel by security and was called in for a meeting with the show's bosses.
On the night Asan had been nominated in the Best Soap Newcomer category but lost out to child star,Kara-Leah Fernandes, 12, who plays Bailey Baker in EastEnders.

Jamie, who was married to Coronation street star Kym Marsh from 2012 to 2014, has played bad boy and ladies man Warren Fox in various stints on Hollyoaks since 2006.
He recently returned to the Channel 4 soap after finishing second on 2017’s I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here.
Jamie has yet to comment on the incident but a source close to the star said it was “business as usual” for him following the incident.
