Emmerdale spoilers: Rachel Breckle killed off as Jai is reunited with his missing son Archie after her shock death

JAI Sharma is set to be reunited with his long-lost son Archie in Emmerdale next week as Rachel Breckle is killed off off-screen.

Jai – who’s played by Chris Bisson in the ITV soap – gets a shock when Dan Spencer returns to the village, with little Archie in tow.

Dan drops the bombshell that Rachel – Archie’s mum – has died, leaving Jai stunned.

The businessman desperately tries to engage with his distant son, wishing he could get through to him. Will he succeed in building bridges?

It’s been a turbulent time for Jai who lost his business when the factory burned down and then said goodbye to his daughter, Eliza, who left with mum Megan Macey last month.

Archie has been living in Liverpool with mum Rachel – who was played by Gemma Oaten – following a bitter custody battle between her and Jai.

Archie was conceived following a one night stand between cleaner Rachel and her boss Jai, who was married to Charity Dingle at the time.

Rachel initially planned a termination but was convinced by Jai to keep the baby because Charity didn’t want children with him.

Rachel and Jai agreed to keep baby Archie’s paternity secret but Charity soon began to suspect something was going on. Jai’s dad, Rishi, covered for Jai and said he was baby Archie’s dad.

Rachel’s death will no doubt come as a shock to others in the village too.

Her niece Amelia went missing last year following the death of mum Ali – who was Rachel’s sister.

Sam Dingle – who was in a relationship with Rachel when she gave birth to Archie – will also be rocked by news of her death.
