What is Netflix’s The Politician about?
The Politician is a new comedy show, launching on Netflix, which focuses on wealthy student Payton Hobart (played by Ben Platt) from Santa Barbara, California.
Since he was seven-years-old he has wanted nothing more than to become the President of the United States of America.
But before he waltzes into the White House he has to first navigate the most treacherous political landscape: Saint Sebastian High School.
He must win over his fellow classmates to get elected Student Body President, secure a spot at Harvard and stay on his singular path to success.
Netflix promises the series is full of comedy and sly satire, offering a rare glimpse into what it takes to make it as a politician.

When is The Politician released?
The Politician will launch Friday, September 27, 2019 on streaming giant Netflix and is written by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan.
All three are executive producers of the series, as is Alexis Martin Woodall, Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The show is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and consists of eight hour long episodes, filmed in Los Angeles and New York.

Who is in the cast of The Politician?
Ben Platt

Ben is best known for his role as nerdy Benji in the hilarious comedy movies Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2.
He takes on the lead part of Payton Hobart in the new Netflix series, two years after he appeared in Will & Grace.
Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth needs no introduction as an Oscar-winning actress and daughter of producer and director Bruce Paltrow and Tony Award-winning actress Blythe Danner.
