Emmerdale fans furious as Victoria refuses to testify against her rapist to stop brother Robert going to prison

EMMERDALE fans were left furious during tonight’s episode as Victoria Sugden refused to testify against her rapist Lee Posner – and stop her brother Robert from going to prison.

Victoria broke down in tears as she told Robert and Aaron that she wouldn’t stand up in the witness box during his trial for attacking rapist Lee.

She said she wasn’t prepared to lie in court – even if it could stop Robert from spending the rest of his life behind bars.

But Victoria thinks that lying will make her as bad as Lee.

One wrote: “Victoria is being selfish! Robert only got himself in this mess to defend her!”

Another said: “Omg Victoria!! Stand up for your brother!”

A third said: “Victoria is in a difficult situation! #Emmerdale”.

Robert is being charged with GBH with intent – a much more serious crime than plain old GBH, which is what his husband, Aaron Dingle, served time for back in 2017.

Robert has put off telling Aaron that his charge is more serious than he’s letting on, but finally lets the cat out of the bag this week, leaving his partner horrified.

Ryan Hawley , who plays Robert, confirmed he was quitting the Dales earlier this year, leaving Emmerdale and Robron fans gutted.

It’s not yet known how Robert will leave the village but, along with spending a life time behind bars, it’s also thought he could be killed off or go on the run.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw revealed: “Robert is intent on getting his revenge at any cost, even if it kills him.

“Victoria’s evil rapist Lee is still pursuing her, so Victoria decides that the only way that she’s ever going to live happily and peacefully with the baby, is if she leaves the village forever.

“As her brother finds this out, he’s obviously devastated. He doesn’t want his sister to leave at all and as Lee piles the pressure on both of them, Robert is pushed to the very edge.”
