Eastenders spoilers: Chantelle Atkins attacked by abusive husband Gray again after she stands up to him
A TERRIFIED Chantelle Atkins stands up to her abusive husband, Gray, in EastEnders next week as he launches another horrific attack on her.
As the week kicks off, Chantelle – who’s played by Jessica Plummer - is nervous as it’s the day of her assessment at work. But with the support of those around her, she passes with flying colours.
While Chantelle and everyone celebrates her success at The Vic, Gray makes a surprise return from his course.
Chantelle is delighted to see him but it’s not long before Gray sabotages to celebrations and tries to get his wife home.
He covers his anger when Chantelle insists she’s staying.
Gray begins to feel increasingly left out by the Taylors and takes it out on Chantelle.
At home he lashes out at her but, before he can subject her to another horrendous attack, she stands up to him.
Soon Gray is begging for her forgiveness, will she give it though?
Later, while she’s alone at home, Chantelle makes a discovery that leaves her floored. But what is it?
As the week continues Chantelle’s nerves threaten to ruin her chances of winning the hairdressing competition, but everyone rallies around to help with an unexpected model.
Chantelle makes it to the final two in the competition but, when Gray messages her constantly, she makes a decision and forfeits her place.
She arrives home to a furious Gray who’s livid that she’s late for their romantic meal. Gray then attacks his petrified wife, but what will happen this time?
EastEnders fans were left stunned in July when Gray showed his true colours and violently attacked his wife, making it clear this wasn’t the first time this had happened.
The solicitor - who is played by actor Toby Alexander Smith in the BBC soap - had presented the image of a mild-mannered dream husband in public, but in shocking scenes it became clear Gray was a cruel physical and mental abuser of his wife.

After taking part in a charity race, Gray was left embarrassed when he was beaten by his father-in-law Mitch Baker, but instead of laughing it off, he became enraged and accused Chantelle of laughing at his failure.
Demanding she go home with him, Chantelle was obviously frightened of what controlling Gray would do and no sooner as he ushered her through the door that he grabbed her and forcefully punched her.
He sneered at his crying wife as she collapsed to the floor in pain: "I told you not to laugh at me."
Later he tried to blame Chantelle for his own vile behaviour, telling her she was "playing the victim".
He told her: "You turning on me, making me feel like an outsider.
"I do everything for you Chan and you treat me like I'm nothing. Please don't act the victim, let's just put it behind us now, OK?"
The sickening scenes were too much for some viewers who blasted the evil solicitor's behaviour.
