George Michael’s ex Fadi Fawaz is living in £49-a-night Travelodge following accusations he trashed the star’s £5m home
GEORGE Michael’s ex Fadi Fawaz has been living in a £49-a-night Travelodge after being accused of trashing the singer’s £5million home.
Jobless Fadi has traded his life of five-star luxury for a low-budget central London hotel described by one TripAdvisor reviewer as “shockingly dirty”.
The ex-hairdresser has kept a low profile, only emerging from his tiny room when housekeeping staff need to make his bed — or to pop outside for a cig.
Fadi, 46, checked in to the Covent Garden hotel after allegedly going berserk and smashing up ex-lover George’s luxury mews home last month.
He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated criminal damage after causing “significant” damage inside the property.
When The Sun caught up with Fadi at his Travelodge hideaway, he bizarrely denied being the late Wham! star’s ex.
Lebanese Fadi, whose pals have previously begged him to seek mental health treatment, said: “I’m not Fadi. Sorry to disappoint you.
“It’s so tragic what happened to George. It’s a terrible loss. But I don’t really know him. In fact I’ve never met him.”
Fadi also claimed he was not staying at the hotel, merely using its lobby to charge his mobile. But sources confirmed he had been there for “several weeks” and was checked in until September 9.
It is a huge comedown for Fadi, who was not left anything in George’s £97.6million will following his December 2016 death.
He had lived at George’s home ever since, despite the star’s family wanting him out.
The Travelodge, with rooms as cheap as £49 a night, has received mixed reviews online.
Guests have criticised the size of rooms, the lack of facilities and the cleanliness of carpets, bedding and towels.
Courtney A wrote on TripAdvisor: “The rooms were tiny! We asked for an extra towel and were told we could only have two in one room.”
Hayrick wrote: “There is a powerful stench of sewage when you use the sink or shower. Cleaners left previous guests’ wet towels hanging behind the door.”
Allrico described the hotel as “shockingly dirty.”
