Mystery deepens as ‘happy’ Tina O’Brien congratulated ex Ryan Thomas and Lucy Mecklenburgh over their baby news before her cryptic Instagram posts
TINA O’Brien sparked speculation she was annoyed or upset about her ex Ryan Thomas’ baby news with Lucy Mecklenburgh, but is in fact “happy” for him.
The Corrie star baffled fans when she posted a series of cryptic Instagram posts shortly leading some to think she was unaware they were set to make the announcement.
But insiders tell The Sun Online that Tina did know before the pregnancy was announced, saying "Tina did know and congratulated them".
Former Coronation Street star Ryan dated Tina for six years up until 2003 but split a year after their daughter Scarlett was born.
Last week former Towie star Lucy revealed she was expecting with fiancé Ryan, just two months after they got engaged.
The loved-up couple later shared a heart-warming of Scarlett, ten, crying “happy tears” when she found out she was going to be a big sister again.
In the video Scarlett was filmed being surprised with a box that said "open me" at a family party this weekend.
Shortly afterwards Tina – who hasn’t publically congratulated the pair - broke her silence on social media, with a post that read: "Don't always trust what you see on social media. Even salt looks like sugar."
Her followers quickly jumped to the conclusion she was making a dig at Ryan and Lucy publicly sharing the emotional moment, and she made the decision to delete the post.
She then shared another quote, which read: "Don't waste your time with explanations. People will hear what they want to hear."

The quote is from author Paulo Coelho, who penned spiritual bestseller The Alchemist.
Fans later spotted she had unfollowed both Ryan and Lucy on Instagram.
Tina remarried in 2018 after meeting Adam Crofts back in 2011 and the couple had a son called Beau, four, in 2014.
In the past Tina and Ryan have both spoken about how well they get on and Ryan has even spent Christmas with his ex and new family in the past.
Lucy and Tina are also known to have been friends and have publically shared jokes on social media in the past.
