Sink or Swim celebrities – meet the full cast swimming the English Channel for Stand Up To Cancer
SINK or Swim has made its debut on Channel 4, showing a number of celebrities gearing up to swim the English Channel. The catch? They aren’t confident swimmers.
The competition series kicked off on August 27, who is in the cast and has taken on the challenge to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer?
Who’s in the Sink or Swim cast?
Wes Nelson - Age: 21
Love Island’s Wes Nelson is the youngest competitor taking part in the new series.
This time, however, Wes will not be posing in his swimwear trying to impress a bunch of bombshells with his smooth talk.
Wes will hope to take his swimming skills to the next level, but will he be able to make the daring swim across the English Channel?
Simon Webbe - Age: 41
Simon Webbe is a member of the boyband Blue and famously starred in Strictly Come Dancing’s 12th series.
He is trading in a life of touring with the gruelling task to perform in open water.
And he’s not the greatest swimmer, so how well will he end up doing on the show? We’ll have to wait and see.
James Argent - Age: 31
The Only Way is Essex funnyman James Argent is keen to show fans that the challenge won’t get the better of him.
Given that Arg has already been on a mission to improve his health and fitness, taking part in Sink or Swim will obviously do wonders for the reality star - especially if he completes the swim.
James wants to prove his haters wrong, and that’s exactly what we’re sure he’s bound to do on the show.
Georgia Kousoulou - Age: 28
Georgia Kousoulou is most known for starring on ITV2’s The Only Way Is Essex.
Since 2014, she’s been considered a power couple with her beau and co-star Tommy Mallett.
This time, Georgia is going it alone, but will she overcome her fear of swimming by taking on a challenge has big as this one? We’ll have to wait and find out.
Alex Brooker - Age: 35
Alex Brooker is probably best known as the host of Channel 4’s show The Last Leg.
He wears a prosthetic right leg and was born with hand and arm deformities, which is bound to make the swimming task much harder for the celeb.
But Alex is a fighter and he desperately wants to raise money for charity.
He’s previously also co-hosted The Jump with Davina McCall in 2014, having also fronted Channel 4’s The Superhumans Show.
Sair Khan - Age: 31
Coronation Street’s Sair Khan is also taking part in Sink or Swim.
She previously starred on ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, so she knows what’s getting herself into when it comes to reality television.
But how will she make the move from the Aussie jungle to the English Channel?
Linford Christie - Age: 59
Linford Christie is the Jamaican-born British former sprinter who is definitely going to be considered a serious competitor to the other celebs.
Having won a gold medal in four World Championships, there’s little doubt that Linford won’t push boundaries and make impressive moves while swimming the English Channel.
He’s well versed in the world of sports, so this should be easy for him.
Rachel Adedeji - Age: 27
Former X Factor contestant and Hollyoaks actress Rachel Adedeji hopes to improve her own swimming skills to make the big move and swim the English Channel.
On the ITV singing competition, Rachel came ninth before she went on to play Lisa Loveday in the Channel 4 soap in 2016.
Dina Louise Jordan - Age: 59
Dina Louisa Jordan has made appearances on shows such as Coronation Street and presented over the airwaves, but her biggest role came when she was named the presenter of Blue Peter.
She held the position from 1990 until 1996 and was also a regular host of Songs of Praise, so it goes without saying that her industry credentials go back almost three decades.
Greg Rutherford - Age: 32
Greg Rutherford is a former Olympic long-jump champion who is used to launching himself into the sand.
But how well will he do in the water? The 32-year-old is an athlete, but water sports are completely different to what he’s professionally known for.

Tessa Sanderson - Age: 63
Javelin-thrower Tessa Sanderson will also star in the Channel 4 series.
And with a whopping six Olympics under her belt, swimming the English Channel shouldn’t be all that difficult for the 63-year-old.
