GREAT British Bake Off fans were left in hysterics after the show returned with an innuendo filled first episode.
The show is well known for its saucy puns and tonight's show didn't disappoint, with mentions of a "furry garden" and a reference to the size of Paul Hollywood's "snake".
The first episode got off to a great start, with some soggy bottoms and also some showstoppers.
But besides the glorious baked creations, it was the return of the naughty cake-based innuendos that got the viewers talking.
It all started when judge Paul was left red-faced after mishearing Helena Garcia, 40, call her “fairy garden” birthday cake a “furry garden”.
Blushing Spanish-born Helena, of Leeds, laughed: “Oh Paul, I know what you’re thinking.”
Paul 53, admitted his mistake, and then asked: “How big is your . . . erm . . . fairy garden?”
It saw the studio (and viewers) dissolve into giggles, which continued when fellow judge Prue Leith, 79, said it was “more like a fairy mountain”.
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves to laugh at Paul's gaffe.
One tweeted: "A furry garden ohhhhhh my #bakeoff"
Another giggled: "Paul Hollywood with furry garden in the brain hmmmm? #GreatBritishBakeOff"
And another said: "I can’t cope with this ‘furry garden’ fiasco #GBBO #BakeOff"
But the naughtiness in the white tent didn't stop there.
Later David Atherton, 36, revealed he was making a snake cake, for the Showstopper Challenge - which this week was to be a "birthday cake of your childhood dreams".
More on Bake Off
While talking to David about his reptile inspired cake, Paul revealed he used to have “a slowworm” when he was a kid – this promoted a lovely bit of innuendo from host Noel Fielding, 46, who said: “Some of us have snakes, some of us have worms Paul” – cheeky!
There was also a bit of sauciness when Essex trucker Phil Thorne, 56, looked as if he is performing a sex act as he piped icing on his rocket-shaped cake.
Smutty viewers were quick to comment on the way Paul gripped and kneaded the dough - making for hilarious viewing.
- Bake Off returns to Channel 4 next Tuesday (September 3) at 8pm
