Towie’s Tommy Mallet heartbroken as two friends are killed in late night car crash

TOWIE star Tommy Mallet has been left heartbroken after two of his friends were killed in a late night car crash.

The 27-year-old took to social media following the horror crash in Essex, which claimed the lives of Ricky Batchelor and Daniel Rowland on Sunday morning.

Following the incident, Tommy penned a heartbreaking post, which read: "Speechless! Two clean hearted friends taken way too soon.. Life's crazy. Will never forget the time and effort you gave my Mum & Dad over the years!!"

The reality star's friends and followers soon started commenting, as they offered their condolences to him and the victims' families.

Tommy's girlfriend, Georgia Kousoulou, began by sharing three love hearts, while other well-wishers shared their own tributes.

A friend, Beverley Groom, wrote: "These 2 beautiful young men taken far to soon ricky so many good memories you left us with me and mark will miss you so much we will never ever forget you rip boy love you.

She continued: "Danny you was probably the nicest fella i have ever known so respectful and caring it was a honour to call you our friend dan i use to say to you if my boys turn out like you id be very proud i really meant that rip dan love you."

While another friend, Benny Shamps, commented: "Loved both of them, so greatful for the time they gave mum and dad. Will be missed dearly."

The BMW the men were travelling in is thought to have collided with a tree at around 1.30AM on Sunday, however emergency services weren't called to the scene at Point Clear Road, St Osyth, until 6.15 AM.

Both men, believed to be in their 30's, from Benfleet and East London, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A representative for Essex police force told : "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision, which we believe may have occurred at around 1.30am Sunday morning.

“We would like to thank local residents and workers, particularly holidaymakers at The Orchards Holiday Village, for their compassion and their patience.”

Flower tributes and sympathy cards have been placed at the scene of the crash.

A spokesman for St Osyth Parish Council told : “The council was shocked and saddened to learn of the fatal collision.

“The thoughts of the parish council and residents are with the families and friends of the two young men who tragically lost their lives.

“The parish council fully supports the appreciation of Essex Police for the understanding and patience shown by the many residents and holidaymakers who were affected by the closure of the road.”
