Faye Brookes hints at being ‘broken’ and ‘hurt’ by ex-fiance Gareth Gates as they end their engagement
FAYE Brookes has hinted at being "broken" and "hurt" by her ex-fiancé Gareth Gates after ending their engagement.
The former Coronation Street star, 31, liked a series of posts from fans who were trying to support her after The Sun Online exclusively revealed her relationship breakdown yesterday.
One post read: "She fell. She crashed. She broke. She cried. She crawled. She hurt. She surrendered. And then.. she rose again."
Faye is yet to comment publicly on the split, but has been seeking comfort from fans.
She liked a post that read: "Keep smiling and remember you’re amazing. Big hugs sweetheart."
While another fan told her: "Stay strong, be positive & be happy. Know you're loved & supported always Faye. Look after yourself."
Faye has dated former Pop Idol star Gareth, 35, on and off for seven years.
He got down on one knee in January - four months after they got back together following a brief split.
Discussing his song, Gareth said: “It was all about the six years we’ve spent together and I incorporated bits of songs that mean a lot to us as a couple. I got a bit carried away though – it went on for 17 minutes!”
Faye gushed: “It’s every girl’s dream to find the perfect man for her and then have the perfect engagement, so I feel very lucky.
“To have such a beautiful ring and to share the most brilliant life with my best friend is everything I’ve ever wanted. He could have but any ring on my finger and I would have said yes.”
Faye quit playing Kate Connor on Corrie earlier this year and the pair had been planning to move to London.
Corrie's Faye met Gareth in 2012 when they played on-stage lovers in the UK tour of Legally Blonde The Musical.
Faye and Gareth's reps both declined to comment when contacted by The Sun Online.
