BAFTA award-winning film maker Louis Theroux has bounced back with another epic documentary which will focus on the lives of sex workers on social media.
Louis Theroux: Selling Sex will see the 49-year-old documentary maker explore the lives of three women and what led them into the industry in Britain.
Louis has returned to the UK after his recent work in America to investigate the modern-day sex industry - highlighting how much it has changed over the years.
The one-hour BBC2 film will delve into the lives of sex workers and focus on how they use the latest technology such as social media to be successful in the industry.
With the rise of sites such as OnlyFans, as well as Instagram and Snapchat, women are able to share photos, make bookings and meet potential clients in a very accessible way.
Speaking about his new documentary, Louis said: “The sexual economy seems to have been turbo-charged by the prevalence of new websites and social media that allow users to meet up more easily, write reviews of each other, and swap information.”
Louis has never been shy of investigating a range of unique subjects with taboos attached, shining a light on Christianity, UFOs, sex trafficking and pornography in the past.
He has also worked with the likes of Jimmy Saville, Chris Eubank and The Hamiltons in his series When Louis Met.
Louis has won two British Academy Television Awards, a Royal Television Society Award and is reported to be worth around £3m.
