Love Island fans predict Maura and Curtis will be the first to split after she admitted she wanted Michael during the final
LOVE Island's Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins are hurtling towards a break-up according to fans, who reckon they will be the first couple to split.
The pair came fourth in last night's shocking finale - but she was seen edging away from him and even revealed she originally fancied Michael Griffiths.
Curtis looked over wide-eyed as Maura explained: "Actually Michael was the guy I wanted to go for straight away when I went in."
The 28-year-old added: "But I had a better connection with Tommy [Fury] on the date. When I want something I go for it."
The display didn't convince many fans, who have predicted the pair will be over in a matter of weeks.
In research done by Storyful, one tweeted: "Curtis/Maura will be done by the time my son goes back to school. The rest - various staggered break ups, all done by Christmas."
Others were debating how long they would last, with one tweeting: "I give Maura and Curtis til early-mid September til they break up."
Another gave them a little more time, writing: "I'll give Curtis and Maura 3 months on the outside before they break up."
A third had an even bleaker assessment, giving "Curtis and Maura a day 😂".
Not to be beaten, one other wrote: "Llooooooool Maura and Curtis will break up in 15mins."
And in an exclusive Sun poll a whopping 72 per cent of people claimed the pair will be the first to split.
Last night, body language expert Judi James predicted the couple would be the first to break up based on their behaviour in the final.
She told The Sun Online: "I think she might crack first in terms of not keeping up the pairing, she seemed to pop further away up the seat as they sat down and sucked in her lips, which can be an expression or regret or wariness as Curtis spoke primarily about himself."
Judi added: "Her foot was tapping in a metronomic gesture too, which can suggest irritation or a desire to get on with things.
"She looked genuinely stricken when they only got into fourth place and her facial expressions with Curtis suggested a range of emotions."
Maura was caught with a look of disbelief on her face as the winners were announced, with Judi saying of the champions: "They looked genuinely surprised to get to the final and their body language does say ‘early days’."
One fan tweeted: "Maura didn’t win and she’s just letting loose so quick LOOL what you mean she wanted Michael !!"
The crown was taken by Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea, who caused an upset by snatching victory from long-time favourites Tommy and Molly-Mae Hague.
