Inside Jennifer Lopez’s incredible 50th birthday party with A-listers, fireworks, A-Rod… and Ryan Thomas
JENNIFER Lopez turned 50 in true superstar fashion last night with a star-studded bash attended by boyfriend Alex Rodriguez, a host of famous pals - and even Corrie's Ryan Thomas.
The Jenny From The Block singer, known by the nickname J-Lo, celebrated the milestone birthday with a swanky bash, hosted at singer Gloria Estefan's private estate on Miami's exclusive Star Island.
The event was thrown by Prettylittlething boss Umar Kamani, a friend of Jennifer who she recently collaborated with on a range for the clothing line.
Jennifer looked incredible in a metallic cut-out dress, which was split right up to the thigh, and her hair worn in a high ponytail.
She accessorised with her trademark gold hoop earrings and a gold purse.
Her fiance Alex Rodriguez, 43, who gifted her with a red Porsche for her special day, looked dapper in a black suit and tie as he escorted her into the venue, which had been decked out with white flowers and linen tablecloths.
The glamorous shindig, which was decorated with giant disco balls at the entrance, was attended by a host of Jennifer's famous friends, including DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Foolish singer Ashanti.
Bizarrely, ex-Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas was a surprise guest at the event.
Ryan was there as he is best mates with PrettyLittleThing's Umar Kamani, and he appeared in his element as he documented the fun times on his social media.
At one point, Ryan, dressed in a crisp white suit jacket and black trousers, was pictured bantering with Jennifer herself.
The venue was close to the home of Jennifer's ex, Sean 'P Diddy' Combs, but while he sent his well-wishes earlier in the day, he did not make a cameo at the bash.
The party went into the early hours of the morning as DJ Cassidy, who played at Jennifer's 40th birthday in 2009, and DJ Don Hot supplied the tunes in the main room.
At one point Ashanti and Fat Joe took to the stage to perform their smash song, What's Luv?
But it was Jennifer's kids, twins Max and Emme, 11 (who she shares with ex Marc Anthony) who stole the show when they serenaded their mother with a birthday rap and a song.
Alex's kids Natasha, 14, and Ella, 11 (from his relationship with ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez were also at the party and are believed to be very close with their soon-to-be stepmum.
Jennifer tore up the dancefloor and danced with her fellow guests all night, although her boyfriend, who documented much of the night on his instagram stories, pulled out a fair few 'dad dancing' moves.
The birthday cake, a five-tiered black and gold showstopper, was quite the spectacle, with partygoers whipping out their phones and talking pics of the guest of honour as she cut into it.
But the most jaw-dropping moment of the night was saved for last as a fireworks spectacular rained down from the skies.
Earlier in the day, Alex surprised Jennifer with a touching video montage on his instagram.
“Hi baby girl, just want to wish you a happy birthday,” the baseball player said in the video. “I cannot believe this, baby girl. Since we’ve been together you have made me feel like every day is my birthday.”
“Thank you for your passion, and your energy, and your inspiration, and your endless pursuit to be the best at everything that you do,” he added.
“You are simply the best partner in life, the best daughter, the best mother, the best performer. We love you, your fans love you, your children love you and I love you. Let’s make this birthday a very special one.”
An emotional Jennifer replied underneath his post: "I’m crying....I love our life...I love you so much... thank you my beautiful Macho... "
