Strictly Come Dancing pros fear new judge Motsi Mabuse will favour sister Oti after shock appointment
STRICTLY Come Dancing bosses have shocked fans by naming dancer Oti Mabuse’s sister as their new judge — leading to questions over bias.
The show’s professional dancers fear virtual unknown Motsi, 38, will be less harsh on her younger sibling, 28.

But pals of long-serving Anton du Beke, 53, said he was “devastated” and thinking of leaving after believing the role was his.
A source said: “It’s gone down like a lead balloon, with the pro dancers talking among themselves, saying it’s unfair and bound to cause a host of issues.
“A lot of the cast feel like they’re fighting a losing battle already. They feel Motsi will favour her sister.

“And some worry Oti will say who she is close to on the team — and Motsi will give them preferential treatment, especially the girls.”
BBC bosses say they chose twice-wed Motsi because of a “brilliant” audition for the role.
But fans’ only knowledge of her is an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, with Oti and another sister, Phemelo.
Motsi said last night: “I am absolutely overjoyed to be joining Strictly. I’ve so much respect for the other judges and hope to add my own bit of sparkle to the show.”

Motsi is also a judge on the German version, Let’s Dance, which Oti danced on for two series. Oti came sixth and last, but her sole ten out of ten was from Motsi.
The Sun understands the UK judges — Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli — were not consulted about her appointment.

IF Motsi brings just half the enthusiasm, energy and joy Oti does, this is an inspired signing.
No one had heard of Shirley Ballas and she’s a revelation as Head Judge.
If anything, Oti will have to work harder than ever to prove herself — especially as the BBC will probably now give her a turkey of a partner.
