LOVE Island could face further investigation as Ofcom received 147 complaints following last night’s show, with the majority about Michael’s behaviour towards Amber.

The fireman was slammed by fans yesterday after he treated former partner Amber “like a dog” and told her he had no romantic interest in her.

In shocking scenes the 27-year-old harshly pulled the 21-year-old for a chat to break her heart again, leaving those watching at home fuming.

Over 100 people made a complaint to the TV watchdog, who will now decide whether they need to investigate further.

An Ofcom spokesman told The Sun Online: “We will assess these complaints against our broadcasting rules, but are yet to decide whether or not to investigate.”

During the episode viewers saw Michael walk over to Amber and say: "Amber, sit down for us. Sit down."

Maura Higgins gasped: "Did she just let him talk to her like that? Sit down? That was really rude."

Michael then told Amber he wasn't interested in her - despite her telling him she would still be open to a relationship.

It’s not the first time this series that the show has sparked hundreds of complaints.

Earlier this month Ofcom received over 1000 complaints when Lucie broke down in tears when Joe was booted out of the villa.

Elsewhere, 686 furious fans called up the TV watchdog to moan about Maura's behaviour on the ITV2 reality show.

Meanwhile during tonight’s episode, Michael will apologise to Amber for how he spoke to her.

He told her: “When I came over and told you to sit down, it was because you had wearing heels all night and I didn’t want you to walk anywhere else. I am apologising if it came across in a bad way.”

Amber replied: “I just think you really need to think about the way you speak to me, because it comes across really badly.”

Amber added: “I knew you before and you never spoke to me in a way that made me feel upset.”

Michael continued:  “I don’t actually want to hurt you and I never have. Right now, it seems that I take all of my frustration out on you.”
