New Channel 4 show Bring Back The Bush will focus on women who don’t groom downstairs
WE have spent most of this summer looking at those perfectly honed and groomed bikini babes on Love Island.
Now new Channel 4 show Bring Back The Bush will focus on a very different group of women — those who are not afraid to let it all hang out.
As the title suggests, it is all about ladies who are quite happy to put away those tweezers and razors and be just as nature intended.
The programme, which is being screened in the autumn, also celebrates other body features that do not fit the “perfection” mould, such as saggy boobs.
A TV insider said: “It will highlight how people are exposed to an ideal of beauty that’s splashed across our TV screens and on the pages of magazines.
“They are out to prove there’s nothing wrong with wobbly tummies, odd-shaped body parts and having a bit of a bush in the nether regions.
“The show will also include real disaster stories of how women’s quests to achieve a perfectly smooth body went horribly wrong.” Viewers can also look forward to watching “body positivity” experts discussing how the idea of what is beauty has changed over the years.
Crucially, they will also talk about why both men and women ought to be more content with their bodies, rather than obsessing about how to change them.
It might save them a fortune on waxing strips too.

Shipwrecked sunk as fans desert series
THE rebooted version of Shipwrecked has been axed after just one series.
It was one of the first reality TV contests and among the most popular youth shows of the Noughties.
But the latest incarnation failed to capture the imagination of millennials when it returned earlier this year with castaways including Sara Murphy. When it appeared on E4 in January, the series started with just 648,000 viewers and lost almost a third of them after a 15-show run.
A TV insider said: “The figures were a real disappointment for E4 chiefs as they invested a lot of time and money into bringing the show back. They tried to revive the magic that first made it popular two decades ago, while adding one or two elements that were clearly inspired by modern shows including Love Island.”
Shipwrecked was first screened on Channel 4 in 1999, before the arrival of big reality TV shows such as I’m A Celebrity and Big Brother. The first three series, which ran until 2001, featured 16 young contestants who had to survive the challenges of being stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific.
It returned from 2006 to 2009 with the group divided into two teams, the Sharks and the Tigers. Then it went back to the original format for two series in 2011 and 2012.
A spokesman for E4 said: “Shipwrecked brought a much-appreciated splash of winter sunshine to E4 this year.
“However, with a host of new E4 shows arriving in 2020, Shipwrecked will not be on screen next year.”
Sad, but even good TV shows have a shelf life.

STRICTLY professional Dianne Buswell has revealed the show’s pro dancers will go back to work in a fortnight – but they will not find out for a month which of the celebrities they will be partnered with for the forthcoming series.
Carol looks DIY-licious
EVEN when she is sporting a chainsaw, kneepads and protective gloves, Carol Vorderman somehow manages to look sexy.
But the former queen of Countdown, who has twice won the Rear Of The Year title, wasn’t snapped doing DIY.
Instead, she was making an advert for SunLife insurance company.
It features Carol talking to an elderly couple on their front lawn who do not seem at all fazed by a celebrity appearing with a power tool.
If only everyone who turned up to do work on your house could look that good . . .
Katie kids find voice
IT looks like Katie Price’s kids might succeed where their mother failed – by launching a successful singing career.
Junior Andre, 14, and his 12-year-old sister Princess have been approached to appear on next year’s series of The Voice Kids.
It would be a proud moment for their dad, Katie’s ex-husband Peter Andre, who gave us Nineties tune Mysterious Girl and is still performing sell-out tours.
However, the closest Katie came to a hit single was A Whole New World, her painful duet with Peter, which was released 13 years ago.
Our ears have only just stopped bleeding.

Michael on move
MICHAEL McIntyre's Big Show returns to BBC 1 this autumn for a fifth series – but it will be coming from a different West End venue.
The new home could not be better suited to the show’s variety format as it will be staged in the world-famous London Palladium.
It’s hardly a surprise the show – previously based at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane – is coming back. It has scooped much-deserved Bafta gongs and proved a huge Saturday- night ratings hit.
Despite the change of venue, Michael will still be bringing back the best-loved elements including Send To All, where celebrities nervously hand their phone over to the host to send mischievous messages to their contacts.
There will also be the Midnight Gameshow, where members of the public are woken and asked a series of questions, and Unexpected Star, in which someone is given the chance to perform live on stage in front of an audience of 2,000. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

A TV insider said: “Producers loved Amy’s bubbly personality and want to cash in on her story while it’s still fresh in the public’s mind.”
Meanwhile, the man who dumped Amy on the show, Curtis Pritchard, has not even left yet, but he has landed a major role in a Dick Whittington pantomime.
I wonder if he’ll get to play the villain?
